Kristín Ýr Jónsdóttir, 27
Kristín Ýr Jónsdóttir was born in Reykjavík in 1998. She completed a Master’s degree in flute performance at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in the spring of 2024, where her teachers were Ulla Miilmann, Dóra Séres and Alena Walentin. She is currently pursuing an advanced soloist diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus with Lena Kildahl Larsen. Kristín has participated in various exciting projects and competitions. She has twice appeared as a soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and has reached the finals of international flute and chamber music competitions. She regularly performs as a substitute with professional orchestras, both in Iceland and Denmark. She’s currently on contract as second flute in the Odense Symphony Orchestra for the 25/26 season.
