Two 2nd solo 1st violin/3. Concertmaster positions

Odense Symphony Orchestra is looking for two equal position 2. Solo/3. Concertmasters for our 1st violin group. The position as 3. Concertmaster equals the position as 2nd solo in the 1st violin group in accordance with the current Union Agreement. Both positions are full-time. We focus on the applicant’s outstanding technical and musical profile as well as on a broad knowledge of orchestral repertoire and style and on an open and cooperative attitude in the role of group leader and co-leader. A minimum of experience in leading positions is paramount in this process.
The CV’s will be shortlisted by our panel and a number of candidates will be invited to a “trial” on the chair for 2 separate weeks with the orchestra. An audition will follow in due time.
This job advert will be taken down at the end of June 2026, and the jury will look at applications continuously.
Travel and accommodation for the trial weeks will be covered by the orchestra. Pay in accordance with the Danish Musicians Unions working agreement.
Salaries and working conditions are in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Musicians Union and Dansk Erhverv.
This amounts to:
2nd solo 34.122,581 DKK/month.
Pension: 18,00 %
If the applicant holds a citizenship other than EU/EEA upon invitation for a trial, the candidate and the orchestra will seek relevant work permit in accordance with the rules of the Danish Agency of International Recruitment and Integration.

Odense Symphony Orchestra is the regional orchestra on Funen with 66 permanent musicians and a technical-/administrative staff of 17 employees. The orchestra is based in Odense Concert Hall and has an annual audience of approx. 70.000. The core activity is the performance of symphonic concerts. In addition to this the orchestra’s schedule includes school and family concerts, church and chamber concerts, opera performances and CD recordings. The orchestra tours regularly in Denmark and abroad. The annual budget is approx. 70 million DKK.
