One position as Low Horn with obligation to play Wagner tuba

The audition will take place in the concert hall, Odense, Thursday the 18th of June 2026
Odense Symphony Orchestra is looking for a position as Low Horn, with focus on the applicant’s outstanding technical and musical profile, broad knowledge of repertoire and style, as well as an open and cooperative attitude.

The jury reserves the right to invite a limited number of applicants.
Invited applicants will be notified by email on the 22nd of May 2026
The orchestra will provide an accompanist for the audition.
Travel and accommodation are at the applicant’s own expense.
There will be no rounds behind screen.
1st round: W.A.Mozart: Horn concerto no.3,
E flat major, K447, 1st and 2nd movement, no cadenza
2nd round: H. Neuling: Bagatelle
Orchestral excerpts, solo
3rd round: Orchestral excerpts, with the horn group
There may be a 4th round in the orchestra.

Salaries and working conditions are in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Musicians Union and Dansk Erhverv.
This amounts to:
2nd solo 34.122,581 DKK/month.
Pension: 18,00 %
Applicants with citizenship other than EU/EEA are responsible for obtaining valid residence and work permits by the time of employment in Denmark.

Odense Symphony Orchestra is the regional orchestra on Funen with 66 permanent musicians and a technical-/administrative staff of 17 employees. The orchestra is based in Odense Concert Hall and has an annual audience of approx. 70.000. The core activity is the performance of symphonic concerts. In addition to this the orchestra’s schedule includes school and family concerts, church and chamber concerts, opera performances and CD recordings. The orchestra tours regularly in Denmark and abroad. The annual budget is approx. 70 million DKK.
