– Beethoven and The Danish String Quartet
Odense Symphony Orchestra ends its Beethoven celebration with style when the orchestra performs symphony no. 7, which is full of profusive life joy and spontaneity. We also look forward to a joyful reunion with our former first conductor, Simon Gaudenz, and a completely new acquaintance with The Danish String Quartet.
As a salutation to Beethoven’s significant production of string quartets we have, for tonight’s concert, invited The Danish String Quartet. They have gained their international breakthrough in only a couple of years and are now touring the all-too familiar concert halls. The quartet is known for its exuberant interpretations of folk music, among other things, which we will get a taste of. Moreover, Thomas Agerfeldt Olesen has composed his Sinfonia Concertante for the quartet where Odense symphony Orchestra will be divided into no less than seven string quartets.
