Alexander Vedernikov
The great Russian conductor and music personality, Alexander Vedernikov, is chief conductor of the Odense Symphony Orchestra from 2009-2012.
Vedernikovs first concert as chiefconductor of Odense Symphony Orchestra was 3rd of December 2009 in the Carl Nielsen Salen in Odense Concert Hall.
International maestro
Alexander Vedernikov is among the elite of younger Russian conductors. From 2001- 2009 he was head of the Bolshoi Opera in Moscow. He left this job in July due to disagreements concerning the renovation and management of the opera. Hereafter, it was announced that Vedernikov would take over the position as chief conductor for Odense Symphony Orchestra. As chief conductor, Vedernikov is responsible for the artistic development of Odense Symphony Orchestra.
